Welcome to the website of Cllr. Dave Smith

Your welcome and introduction may be placed here.

(Please explore the rest of this sample website using the links on the left.)

While your visitor is reading this section of your home page, a digital image of you may be loading further down if required (see below).

You could use these first couple of paragraphs to inform visitors to your site of the content of the rest of the pages.

For example, you could explain what may be found by clicking on each of the links on the left like this....

  • If you would like to find out what duties I undertake on your behalf at the Council, click on the 'Council Duties' link on the left.
  • I have also provided a map which you can use to identify the area I am representing at Council level.

Etc., etc.

Or we could produce for you a table (like the one below) which summarises the content of the site (the buttons to the left of each heading also provide a link to the appropriate page)..

Sample website content ...

Home Page

The page you are viewing at the moment is the Home page of my website.

From here you can navigate the rest of this site. For example, you could visit my....

..Background page

..where you will find details of my record as a Councillor along with other background information.

..Ward Map

Here you will find a map indicating the area which I represent at the Council.

..My role as your elected representative

This part of the website will provide you with details of the different ways in which I represent the residents of my Ward.

..My comments page

This is where I have my say!

I may need to explain why certain decisions were taken by the Council, or simply need to 'put the record straight' when a misunderstanding occurs - which can happen!

...The Notices Page

As an elected representative there are times when I may need to inform you of certain matters, and it is sometimes necessary for me to notify local people of information regarding local issues.

For example, I may wish to inform you of items of importance such as an amended Council Policy or a change in the refuse collection dates.

My Notices Page will contain such information - and will be updated when appropriate.

..'How to contact me'

This page contains information about my surgeries, contact address and phone number, e-mail address etc, to enable you to get n touch if you have a problem of an urgent nature that you feel I may be able to help you with.

..Online Questionnaire

As your representative on the Council, I need to be aware of issues within my ward that require action to resolve.

The online polls that I regularly run enables me to keep my finger on the pulse, so to speak ...and ensures that you have a say in the overall decision making process within Council chambers.

And, as Internet use continues to grow amongst local residents (Oftel reports that 45% of the population is now online - up from 30% the same time last year - you can utilise our online polling facility to make your site visitors feel part of the decision making process (to see an example of how this may be achieved, please follow this link)

A final paragraph could be inserted here...

Thank you for visiting this site, and I hope your time here proves to be useful !

Regards,

Cllr. Dave Smith
