Thanks for calling in to the Little Chapel website!

It is our intention that you will find lots of information about our aspirations for this lovely building during your stay with us!

We also hope that your visit here rekindles memories of old - especially if you are viewing this site from abroad!

Unfortunately, the Little Chapel is in need of complete refurbishment, as time and the weather have taken their toll on the physical fabric of the building.

Nevertheless, we have huge hopes for the future.

Under the umbrella of Orrell Community Initiatives (see the OCI website), a group of people have joined forces raise funds to protect the Little Chapel from further deterioration, renovate it and finally ensure that it is used once again by members of the local community.

A 'Restoration Fund' has now been set up by those at Orrell Community Initiatives who appreciate the value of saving this excellent piece of heritage for future generations.

A new and brighter future for the Little Chapel was the inspiration of Josie McCabe, who also played a big part in the successful development of the OCI Hub-Nub Centre.

Josie has managed to enrol the support and assistance of others in her campaign to restore the Little Chapel, and hopefully, the OCI will have successfully negotiated a 25 year lease of the building during the summer of 2002.

This will pave the way for further fundraising activities, and more importantly will enable members of OCI to concentrate on proposals to provide a sustainable use for the building throughout the duration of the 25 year lease.
