'The Hub Nub'

This building in Linacre Lane (next to the Day Centre) was refurbished and  officially opened on 24th March 2000 by Councillor Robert J. Brennan, The Mayor of Sefton.

The name “Hub Nub” was the idea of the Reverend Ricky Panter, vicar of the local church of St. John and St James.

Like the “Hub” of a wheel, O.C.I. is the link between voluntary community organisations in Orrell.  Whilst the “Nub” signifies an active centre of communication for the “Hub”.

Welcome !
This image shows the main entrance to the Hub Nub building.
We are very proud to have been successful in creating a computer training suite. We are presently engaged in discussions which will hopefully result in full access to the Internet.
The plaque commemorating the opening of the Hub Nub is located in our main reception area.

Administration of all aspects of OCI activities are co-ordinated from the reception centre.
Our conference facilities are of the highest quality, with plenty of room for 20+ delegates.

'Orrell Mount'

This building is the refurbished Silcock’s Pavilion based at Orrell Mount and was officially handed over to the management of O.C.I. on the 2nd June 2000.

Inside the Pavilion, children have an additional play area - a great bonus during winter!
Access for disabled people was a key priority for OCI. Here you can see the substantial wheelchair ramp at the rear of the Pavilion.

OCI takes security issues very seriously, and this image highlights the measures taken to protect the building and its contents.
Even after dark, Orrell Mount is a wonderful sight !
